Bio

Liesl is the IVF Lab Director of the University of Colorado Advanced Reproductive Medicine program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and received her Ph.D. in assisted reproduction from Louisiana State University under the direction of Dr. Robert Godke, making her one of the famed “Repro Rangers” who have had such an impact on our field. After her post-doc at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Liesl entered the clinical world as an embryologist at RBA Atlanta, working with Dr. Peter Nagy. In 2011 she moved to Colorado to take a position with Colorado Reproductive Endocrinology, and in 2016 she joined the University of Colorado. Liesl co-founded and was the first president of the Colorado Association of Reproductive Technologists (CART), is known for starting World Embryologist Day, currently serves as the Supervisor Member to the Board of the College of Reproductive Biology (CRB) and is a current Member-at-Large for SRBT. Liesl is also an active member of ASRM, AAB, ABB, CRB and has a distinguished record of publications.
