The SREI Board has approved this year’s guidelines for common application deadline, interview invitation, and acceptance of interview date for fellowship candidates. This process has been very popular in the past among programs and the majority of programs participate. We hope that as many as absolutely possible will do so again this year. The SREI Board thanks you for helping us standardize this process.
Important Dates for REI Interview Process
Wednesday, April 15, 2026: Deadline for Fellowship Directors to submit interviews dates to SREI for public calendar
Friday, May 1, 2026: (12PM CST): Deadline for fellowship programs to receive fellowship applications.
Thursday, June 4, 2026: Notification to invite candidates for interviews. This should be the first wave of notifications. Notifications should not be sent prior to this date. Programs should not offer more invitations than interview slots available. Option of offering preferences for interview dates can be provided to the candidates.
Thursday, June 11, 2026 (12PM CST): Initial deadline for applicants to accept or decline interview date. Additional interview invitations can be sent at this time.
Friday, June 19, 2026: Deadline for alerting invited candidates as to which interview date they are given (including option of wait listing them if they cannot make the offered slot) as well as informing ALL candidates of their status (i.e. invited for interview; wait-listed; or rejected).
Wednesday, June 24, 2026 (12PM CST): Match Registration opens
September 9, 2026 (9 pm ET) Rank Order List Certification Deadline
