Bio

Dr. Akanksha Mehta is Professor of Urology at Emory University School of Medicine, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. Dr. Mehta graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in Providence, RI, with a Bachelor of Science (Biology) and a Bachelor of Art (International Relations). She then earned her MD and completed her General Surgery internship and Urology residency at Alpert Medical School at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. After completing a fellowship in Male Infertility and Microsurgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY, she joined Emory Urology in 2013 as the inaugural Health Services Scholar, and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research. Dr. Mehta currently serves as the Director of Male Reproductive Health for Emory Urology, and is a guest researcher in the Division of Reproductive Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is the Program Director for the Emory Urology residency program. Her research interests focus on improving access to care for couples with male factor infertility. She is the recipient of grant support from the Urology Care Foundation, as well as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, for her work. Dr. Mehta has served as Member-at-Large for the ASRM BoD, and is currently a Member-at-Large on the SMRU BoD. She is also Chair of the Urology Care Foundation Reproductive Sexual Health Committee, and Past President of SWIU.
