On October 14, 2025, Becca O’Connor, J.D., Director of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Center for Policy and Leadership, delivered the keynote speech, “Advancing Reproductive Medicine in Challenging Times,” at the Northwestern University Center for Reproductive Science’s Upper Midwest Summit for Reproductive Science. The theme of this year’s summit was "Next-Gen Reproduction: Shaping the Future of Reproductive Science and Medicine."
The summit brought together trainees, junior and senior faculty, and other research staff and scientists from institutions to foster the exchange of scientific information in the reproductive sciences, facilitate the training and career development of future reproductive scientists, and invite discourse from preeminent leaders in this critical research field.
“The Northwestern University Center for Reproductive Science (CRS) provided a crucial opportunity for reproductive health leaders to come together, foster dialogue, and spark actionable change in our field. I was honored to represent the ASRM Center for Policy and Leadership at this important convening,” said O’Connor, who also joined colleagues on a policy panel at the summit.
Since its formal inception in 1987, the CRS has been at the forefront of reproductive science and medicine research, spanning basic research on cellular and molecular mechanisms, physiological integration across organ systems, and clinical practices that impact fertility and health. The ASRM CPL is pleased to collaborate with CRS to support the development of scientifically informed reproductive health policy. A full agenda of the convening can be found here.
